Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at Rovaniemi airport and private transfer to your accommodation. Checkin at the hotel/accommodation. You will be issued with warm winter clothes either tonight or tomorrow morning. Free time to enjoy the surroundings or do some hiking in Ounasvaara.

Overlooking Rovaniemi city, the hotel welcomes you with bright and spacious hotel ensuite rooms with own sauna and a complete set of facilities from an excellent restaurant and bar.

Day 2: Snowmobiling, Ice Fishing and Ice Floating

Explore the Arctic wilderness driving a snowmobile, try your hand at ice fishing, and enjoy a bonfire BBQ with your friendly guide. A snowmobile trip is a highlight of any arctic adventure, and not to be missed.

After a brief introduction to safety and the controls of the snowmobiles, it’s time to set off on your tailor-made excursion into the wild. Through forests and over hills packed with snow, you’ll drive deep into the wilderness where not many have been. You’ll get the chance to let rip across a frozen lake and experience the speed, the freedom, and the adrenaline rush that can only be had when these thrilling machines roar over the snow.

Your guide will take you across the snowy fields of the Arctic forests to a frozen lake that is only accessible by snowmobiles. The Arctic forest trail has breathtaking surroundings that make for beautiful photos. Enjoy the tranquil nature and fresh air on your snowmobile ride.

Once you arrive at the frozen lake, your guide will teach you how to open a hole in the ice and the best techniques for catching fish. After trying your hand at ice fishing, your guides will set up a bonfire, where you can warm up and cook some sausages. Your guides will tell you stories of their biggest catches and let you know all about the types of fish that can be caught in this area. Finally, head back to the city having experienced what life is like in Lapland.

At the evening your private guide will pickup you from your accommodation and drive you to the frozen lake where you will try the Ice-floating experience. This private guided floating is totally safe with a high quality rescue suit that covers your whole body and keeps you dry.

As you have your own clothing under the suit you will not get cold even in the open 0 degree water. The circumstances are truly arctic! The lake is located in middle of forest, where there is no noises nor light pollution. The peaceful snowy surroundings lets you relax and enjoy the wonderful feeling of weightlessness. In the evening, if the weather is clear, you can see beautiful starry sky and may even get to marvel magnificent Northern Lights.

Day 3: Santa's adventure & Northern Lights by Snowmobile

You wake up to another snow-white morning. After the breakfast, your driver knocks on the door, ready to take you to live a real Christmas story as you search for the Father Christmas and the path to his secret hideaway hut.

Your driver will drive through the remote wilderness until you arrive at the foot of a fell that offers spectacular views over snowy forests and hills. As you step out of the car you notice a red hat that is peeking behind a tree. As you walk closer, you notice that it’s a real elf! As you solve riddles to find the right path to the hidden hut, you will meet some of the Father Christmas’ most trusted elves and learn new skills from them.

After the magical meeting with the old man himself, a reindeer herder elf will be requesting you to help him to feed Father Christmas’ trustworthy travel companions, the reindeer, close by. Maybe you will also hear some exciting stories from their travels.

At evening we will explore the wonderful winter landscape of the Arctic Circle bye snowmobile. Your guide will stop in in the middle of the frozen nature, surrounded by lakes and forests, and observe the mysterious northern sky. Get warmed up by the open fire and enjoy hot beverages and grilled sausages. If you are lucky and the sky is clear, you may be able to see the Northern Lights dancing above you in a complete silence.

Day 4: Husky Sledding & Dinner at the Ice Castle

Experience the complete silence of the Arctic nature around you and ride a husky sleigh through the untouched wintery woods. During the day you will listen to the musher’s stories about the nature in the region, the huskies, their life and training. The car transfer to the Husky Farm goes through the beautiful countryside and you will get a glimpse of the local life and landscapes along your way. Be sure to bring your camera, you’re in for a treat.

At evening we will visit the magic Ice castle where we will have a unforgettable dinner. As a venue, the Ice Restaurant itself is a unique experience. The delicious meals are prepared from local ingredients. Dinner in Ice Restaurant is a lifetime experience you will never forget.

After a guided tour around the Ice Castle we will experience both Finnish and ice sauna.

Experience the gentle heat of a Finnish sauna and its invigorating health effects. Leave your everyday rush for a moment and let the time stand still just to enjoy the atmosphere. Throw water on the stove and let the steam refresh both your body and your mind!

Day 5: Departure

It is departure day, your guide will drop you off at the airport two hours before departure.
