Explore the Arctic wilderness driving a snowmobile, try your hand at ice fishing, and enjoy a bonfire BBQ with your friendly guide. A snowmobile trip is a highlight of any arctic adventure, and not to be missed.

After a brief introduction to safety and the controls of the snowmobiles, it’s time to set off on your tailor-made excursion into the wild. Through forests and over hills packed with snow, you’ll drive deep into the wilderness where not many have been. You’ll get the chance to let rip across a frozen lake and experience the speed, the freedom, and the adrenaline rush that can only be had when these thrilling machines roar over the snow.

Your guide will take you across the snowy fields of the Arctic forests to a frozen lake that is only accessible by snowmobiles. The Arctic forest trail has breathtaking surroundings that make for beautiful photos. Enjoy the tranquil nature and fresh air on your snowmobile ride.

Once you arrive at the frozen lake, your guide will teach you how to open a hole in the ice and the best techniques for catching fish. After trying your hand at ice fishing, your guides will set up a bonfire, where you can warm up and cook some sausages. Your guides will tell you stories of their biggest catches and let you know all about the types of fish that can be caught in this area. Finally, head back to the city having experienced what life is like in Lapland.

At the evening your private guide will pickup you from your accommodation and drive you to meet the Lappish Shaman. You will settle down comfortably on reindeer skins in the kota (Lappish tepee) and let the campfire tune you into the atmosphere. The Shaman tells about the magical atmosphere of Lapland, of gnomes, Northern Lights, of Lappish nature and lastly endows the travelers with good luck dedicating them the magical circle of Lapland.

Husky Safari & Finnish Sauna

You wake up to another snow-white morning. After the breakfast, your driver knocks on the door, ready to take you to live a real lappish experience and meet Huskies!

Are you ready for the dog sledding?

You emerge into the cold air, wearing our comfortable, arctic-proofed gear, ready for adventure. At the husky kennels, you’ll meet the dogs, their excited barks filling the air. You are provided with all the necessary equipment, and taught how to drive a team of dogs. With the rest of the family safely wrapped up in warm furs in the sleigh, you set off!

As you slide through the snow and into the wilderness, the barking of the dogs subsides, and all you can hear is the pounding of paws and the sound of the sledge on the snow. With a shout and a pull of the reins, the dogs turn, and you are entirely in the moment. The white and magical landscape slips by as the dogs pick up speed. Their joy at pulling the sleigh is contagious, and you see broad, happy smiles on everyone’s faces.

The sun sets, the sky turns gold, but this day will live on forever.

At evening, you will experience the gentle heat of a Finnish sauna and its invigorating health effects.

Leave your everyday rush for a moment and let the time stand still just to enjoy the atmosphere. Throw water on the stove and let the steam refresh both your body and your mind!

You can combine your sauna experience with a very popular winter activity in Finland , ice swimming! The secret of plunging into icy water lies in the feeling that surges through your body once you get out of the water

Day 4: Meet The Reindeer + Glass Igloo Experience

Your host will pick you up for another day of adventure. Driving through the snowy landscape, surrounded by never ending wilderness, you arrive to a magical home of the reindeer.

Here’s the reindeer waiting for you to hop on the sleigh. Warmly wrapped and tucked in the sleigh, you start yet another journey in the forest.

The reindeer will pull you through the forest, and introduce you to the life of a reindeer, until you arrive to a Lappish kota where the reindeer herder is waiting for you with so many stories to tell. You will hear fascinating stories about the life in Lapland that evolves around the reindeer.

During there afternoon you will be transferred to your Glass Igloo accommodation.

In the Arctic we have become innovative in the ways we invite the transient winter light into our homes to escape the darkness of the polar nights. Glass-roofed igloos are one of the solutions, inviting not only the light in but the residents to enjoy the nature’s nightly light show, and sleep under the Northern Lights. These glass-ceilinged igloos rest on the fell slope, at an altitude of about 340 m. They offer guests luxury on the edge of the wilderness: a view of the rugged fell landscape and the northern sky.
